Control Limits

The upper and lower limits on the acceptable level of cash that minimizes the sum of the opportunity cost of excessive cash and the cost of marketable security transactions.

Control limits

Expected limits of common cause variation. Sometimes they are referred to as upper and lower control limits. They are not specification or tolerance limits.
