SEAQ lists the market makers' bid and offer prices, together with the Normal Market Size at which those prices will be honoured. Shares traded using SEAQ are said to be traded on the 'quote book'.The very largest companies quoted on the London Stock Exchange are traded on the Stock Exchange Electronic Trading Service (SETS) which automatically matches buyers and sellers, and which is known as the 'order book'. SEAQ is used for those stocks which are too small to be traded on SETS.
