Variable rateA varible-rate agreement, as distinguished from a fixed-rate agreement, calls for an interest rate that may fluctuate over the life of the loan. The rate is often tied to an index that reflects changes in market rates of interest. A fluctuation in the rate causes changes in either the payments or the length of the loan term. Limits are often placed on the degree to which the interest rate or the payments can vary.Variable rate Similar MatchesInvestment Company with Variable CapitalInvestment Company with Variable CapitalAn open-ended collective investment vehicle, similar to a unit trust. As with unit trusts, the money invested by savers is pooled, and then invested in the markets by professional fund managers appointed by the ICVC. The advantage to savers is that by putting their savings together with savings of other individuals, they get the benefits of diversification, and also of professional fund management. The difference between an ICVC and a unit trust is that an ICVC is a company rather than a trust. If you put savings into it, you have shares, not units. Also, an ICVC has just one price, whether you are buying or selling shares in it, with charges shown separately. Normal random variableNormal random variableA random variable that has a normal probability distribution. Variable rated demand bond (VRDB)Variable rated demand bond (VRDB)Floating-rate bond that periodically can be sold back to the issuer. Endogenous variableEndogenous variableAn economic variable that is determined within a model. It is therefore not subject to direct manipulation by the modeler, since that would override the model. In trade models, the quantity of trade itself is almost always endogenous. Contrasts with exogenous variable.
